Hello folks,

Today I really wanna talk about the SDKs (Software Development Kits) especially the ones for the augmened reality. You perhaps heard about the augmented reality, if not, it is a technology that mixes the real world with the digital world by ovrelaying the digital components such as pictures, texts, videos with the camera of the device most of the time or some sort of glasses such as Google Glass.

I was interested about this technology at the beginning because it is part of my senior project in the college, but now I really wish to continue using it in future projects. The problem with the augmented reality that you need to really search about good SDK to help you in the programming process.

In the senior project we chose Metaio SDK, which is one of the good SDKs by providing many services to the developers. I was thinking to continue using it but the problem that I found couple of days ago that Metaio company is about to close and stop all its services. There was some news said that apple Inc. bought the company.

I decided to start searching about a new SDK and I found Wikitude, I'm trying to use it but still I'm facing some problems with it. I think it is somehow more complicated than Metaio.

As a quick comparison between the two SDKs:

- Metaio resources is much better and more clear than Wikitude.

- The time spent to install Metaio the Xcode version for the first time was less than day but the wikitude it is two days until now and still counting.

- Metaio can be used for iOS using objective-C and C, where Wikitude can be used using JavaScript.

That's all I noticed 'till now, I will try digging more with Wikitude.
